I wish I wasn't working this Thursday so I could observe this meeting.
Hopefully our appointed Election Commission and the City Council can fix the mess that was 2012's election season in Worcester. My hope is that the people manning the polls and determining policy will be far more interested in running a fair and open election, rather than a highly partisan mess like we had in our September primary.
While we are on the subject of the primary, how is it that David Lapierre, one of two Republican commissioners on the Election Board, can speak with any clarity or have an unbiased opinion regarding Activate Worcester's shenanigans in September when he is a major donor to the Activate Worcester PAC?
He will vote on the complaints against poll worker Tina Hood, a fellow contributor to Activate Worcester, or will he recuse himself?
Will he reveal their connections to Bonnie Johnson, another member and contributor to Activate Worcester, and one of the people involved in the controversies during the September primary?
Will a reporter for a local news organization ever spell these details out for the public? Or will they make us do their digging for them?
